GLIDING is an activity that everyone can enjoy; for some it can be a pathway to a career in aviation, be it civil or military. Pilots can be solo from 15 years of age and still flying into their 90th year. Balaklava Gliding Club (BGC) is based at Whitwarta, just out of Balaklava.
The club was first formed in 1953 and is now in its 70th year of operation.
